What is Apoquel?

Apoquel is a fast-acting, anti-allergic oral treatment, formulated to control pruritus associated with allergic dermatitis and atopic dermatitis in dogs. With Oclacitinib as the active ingredient, these easy-to-administer tablets have anti-inflammatory properties that provide prompt relief from itching and inflammation. Apoquel tablets provide fast relief for dogs starting food elimination trials and dogs allergic to pork.

Suitable for dogs from 12 months of age, weighing at least 6.6 lbs, these tablets are recommended for food allergy, contact allergy and flea allergy. Apoquel begins to control allergic itch within 4 hours of administration and provides complete relief within 24 hours. Furthermore, they can be used forlong-term maintenance.

How Does Apoquel (Oclacitinib) Work?

Apoquel contains Oclacitinib as its active ingredient, which is a synthetic Janus Kinase (JAK) inhibitor. It inhibits the function of a variety of pruritogenic and pro-inflammatory cytokines, halts the activities of itch-causing enzymes like JAK1 or JAK3, and promotes relief.

• Weigh your pet beforehand to ascertain the right dosage

• The standard recommended dosage is 0.18 to 0.27 mg oclacitinib/lbs (0.4 to 0.6 mg oclacitinib/kg) body weight
• Administer orally, twice daily, for up to 14 days
• Then, once daily for maintenance

• Do not use in dogs less than 12 months of age
